Community nursing in Scotland

Raising the profile of community nursing in Scotland

“Being a Queen’s Nurse is giving me permission to step into areas I had previously not been bold enough to go,” says Ally Lister, a district nurse. “What I’m learning will benefit the patients, my staff, and the NHS as a whole.”

Ally was one of 20 people working in Scotland who were named Queen’s Nurses in 2017. They were chosen by Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland to increase the profile of community nurses and raise awareness of this role.

Our £20,000 grant funded an online resource which documented the working lives of the Queen’s Nurses from across Scotland. You can read the Queen’s Nurses stories here.
