RCN Foundation Fringe Event at Congress

The RCN Foundation, in partnership with the RCN Nurses in Management and Leadership Forum, is delighted to host
“The Courage of Compassion- giving nurses a voice to lead”
Fringe Event on Saturday 18 September 12.45-13.15“

A year on from the publication of The Courage of Compassion (West et al., 2020), the mental health and emotional wellbeing of nurses and midwives continues to be a significant challenge (Health and Social Care Committee, 2021).

This fringe will explore the effectiveness of the ABC (Autonomy, Belonging, Contribution) framework of core working needs (Stone et al., 2009) on the mental health and emotional wellbeing of nurses and midwives. The event will review progress made against the key recommendations of the report, considering how compassionate and inclusive leadership can give nurses a voice to influence leadership styles across the profession.
