RCN Foundation awarded prestigious Chief Nurse Adult Social Care Award
Following our Annual Lecture on Monday 22 September, we were presented by Professor Deborah Sturdy, Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care Department of Health and Social Care, with a Chief Nurse Adult Social Care Team Award.
The Team Award recognises the enormous range of skills, expertise, and enduring compassion that modern nursing and social care represent.
Unbeknown to us, RCN Foundation Chair in Adult Social Care Nursing, Professor Claire Pryor, and Professor Vanessa Heaslip, Professor of Nursing and Healthcare Equity at the University of Salford, had nominated us for our commitment to adult social care nursing since 2013.
“The RCN Foundation has an established track record of supporting nurses working in social care settings. Nurses in care homes have been a priority for the Foundation since 2013, and more recently this focus has expanded to the full scope of social care nursing practice. Their work, grant making processes and dedication have supported multiple innovative projects and has been instrumental in raising the profile of nursing in social care settings, encompassing all fields of nursing, and incorporating wider members of the health and care teams in this work.”
It is a privilege and honour – not only to have been nominated but to have won the award. We can’t wait to wear our badge with pride!
