LV= donate £65,000 to fund an array of education grants and events

The RCN Foundation is thrilled to announce our partnership with LV= following their generous donation of £65,000.

The RCN Foundation has enjoyed a longstanding partnership with LV to support UK nurses, midwives, and healthcare support workers seeking to enhance their professional development and improve patient care.

Quality Improvement Project 

Of the donation made by LV=, £25,000 will establish the RCN Foundation LV= Quality Improvement Project Grants Programme for nursing and midwifery. This programme will fund opportunities for nursing and midwifery led QI projects that improve patient care and safety, help in addressing health inequalities and improve outcomes for nurses and midwives’ wellbeing.

Grants of up to £2,500 will be available for up to 10 projects across the UK. Priority will be given to projects addressing health inequalities in deprived areas and result in sustained improvement over time. The first five grants will be awarded in our spring round of education grants, and the second in our autumn round. Example of QI initiatives include decreased medication administration errors, improved electronic medical record documentation, and reduced hospital readmissions.

You do not need to be a member of the RCN to apply for this funding.

Funding for healthcare support workers

Building on previous support for healthcare support workers, LV= have donated £15,000 to fund a further education grant specifically for healthcare support workers across health and social care settings wishing to develop their skills and competencies. The RCN Foundation LV= Education Grant offers up to £1,600 to support training and educational opportunities across a wide range of subjects including phlebotomy, cannulation, and wound care. This will open in our spring round.

You do not need to be a member of the RCN to apply for this grant.

Headline sponsors  

The donation is part of a wider package of support from LV=, which also includes sponsorship of the annual RCN Foundation Impact Awards. The RCN Foundation Impact Awards are a celebration of nurses, midwives and healthcare support workers across the UK and the impact and contributions they have made to the profession.  

Additionally, later in the year we will host a celebration and showcase event, funded by LV=. This event will celebrate those that have received funding for the RCN Foundation LV= Quality Improvement Project Grants Programme.
