Celebrating excellence in nursing and midwifery

The annual RCN Foundation Impact Awards recognise excellence in nursing and midwifery throughout the UK. They are a celebration of the outstanding work of nurses, midwives and healthcare support workers that takes place every day.

Arguably, nursing and midwifery is in the public consciousness more than ever before - particularly with retention and recruitment failing to meet the demand, increasing the pressure on an already exhausted workforce. We are proud to continue to be at the forefront of supporting nursing and midwifery professions. Through our programmes of education grants and the support of our donors, we continue to help nurses, midwives, and healthcare support workers to develop their practice, boost their clinical expertise, and improve patient care.

Thank you

A huge thank you to cleric, broadcaster, writer, and former Communard, Reverend Richard Coles who was the compère for the evening. Richard was an exceptional host, combining wit and anecdotes, and we were so pleased to have him join our awards.

Impact Award Winners 2024

Our seven inspirational award winners for 2024 were selected from nurses, midwives, and healthcare support workers whose RCN Foundation education grants have supported them in enhancing their practice and creating an outstanding contribution to patient care throughout the UK.

For every one of this evening’s award recipients, there are many thousands of nursing and midwifery staff who continue to provide exceptional care, day in and day out, in different settings. These awards are also a reflection on the extraordinary contribution that nursing, and midwifery makes to our nation’s health and wellbeing.

Deepa Korea, Director of the RCN Foundation, said "It is a privilege to witness the immense difference that the RCN Foundation's investment continues to make to support and strengthen nursing and midwifery, and improve the health and wellbeing of the public. These awards mark the culmination of another remarkable year for nursing and midwifery. We congratulate all our award winners for their outstanding commitment to providing the best possible patient care."
