RCN Foundation are Bird & Blend's ChariTEA of the Quarter!
In Q1 of 2024, we were honoured to be Bird & Blend's chosen charity.
We were honoured to kick off 2024 by announcing that we were Bird & Blend Tea Co. ChariTEA of the Quarter!
Bird & Blend Tea Co. is an independent, award-winning tea company on a mission to spread happiness and reimagine tea! Sustainability is at the heart of their business, and they have stores throughout the UK.
Launched in 2014, their ChariTEA Programme has supported over 30 worthwhile causes, donating £114,000 and counting to charity!
ChariTEA of the Quarter
As ChariTEA of the Quarter, we chose Deep Breaths as our tea of choice, with profits from all online purchases being donated to us by Bird & Blend at the end of the quarter. We are delighted that our partnership with Bird & Blend raised over £4,000!
In January, we visited their Borough store with our 2023 Impact Award winner, Fartun, and got a real flavour for the brand (quite literally, with many free samples!) and more insight into the ethos of Bird & Blend.
On 17 February, to celebrate #RandomActsOfKindnessDay, Bird & Blend generously offered a free cuppa to all nurses, midwives, and healthcare support workers that came into a store. We also took over their Instagram for the day to encourage donations, uptake of the free cuppa and for those visiting the shop to share a note or story of thanks to a nurse, midwife, or healthcare support worker has cared for them or someone they care about.
In March, we were kindly invited to the Angel store for a tea tasting session, trying 10 different flavours of tea and learning their history, how they are made and best enjoyed. At the end of the session, we created our own tea blends to take home with us.
Partnership
Our partnership with Bird & Blend is so important to us and we are thrilled to have raised over £4,000 which will support nurses, midwives, and healthcare support workers across the UK.
The money raised will support nurses like Lily, who are facing hardship despite being in work. It will support nursing associates like Crystal, who was awarded an RCN Foundation education grant to support her study towards a degree in Adult Nursing.
Our partnership meant we, and the public, had the opportunity to give something back to those who care for us everyday.
