A dedicated fund for nurses, midwives, healthcare support workers, maternity support workers and care workers from the Global Majority/Ethnic Minority, looking to develop their training and skills.
Across the UK, ethnic minority is the officially recognised term used to describe all ethnic groups other than White British who are numerically and structurally minoritised within national systems. This includes White minority groups, such as Gypsy, Roma and Irish Traveller communities. The RCN Foundation also uses the term Global Majority to acknowledge that, while these communities are minoritised within the UK, they collectively represent the majority of the world’s population internationally.
Successful applicants will receive a one-off grant of £1,600 to support them as they undertake further training and development. Laptops and books are now considered eligible costs. Should your application be successful, a proof of purchase will be required prior to grant payment.
You do not need to be a member of the RCN to apply.
You must be undertaking a UK accredited course that starts between January 2027 and January 2028. Please do not apply if your course falls out of these dates.
Student nurses, student midwives and nursing associate students are not eligible for this grant.
