
Funded by The Needlemakers Company, this grant programme aims to address nursing shortages by supporting career changers into nursing. Grants of up to £1,000 per year, for up to two years (total up to £2,000) available, with continuation into year 2 dependent on academic progress.
While both the Needlemakers grant and Into Nursing grant target graduates entering nursing, this grant offers multi-year funding with a specific focus on candidates in deprived areas of London and the home counties. It is also part of a long-term partnership between The Needlemakers Company and the RCN Foundation to build nursing capacity in these communities.
To apply for this grant:
- You must hold a previous degree and demonstrate passion for nursing
- You must have healthcare experience
- Your course must take place between 1 January 2027 and 1 January 2029
There will be a focus on applicants living or working in areas of high deprivation in London and the home counties to address local health inequalities however, applications from throughout the UK are also welcome.
