Celebrating 15 years of the RCN Foundation!

March 2025 marks a huge milestone for the RCN Foundation - our 15th anniversary!

RCN Foundation Director, Deepa Korea, and RCN General Secretary and Chief Executive, Nicola Ranger, welcomed staff in celebrating the incredible impact of the RCN Foundation since it was founded in 2010.

With cake aplenty, it was a wonderful opportunity to reflect and share with staff our achievements over the last 15 years, and the impact our work has had on thousands of nursing and midwifery staff across the UK.

Seeing the numbers, it's hard to believe that since 2010 we've assisted over 11,000 nursing and midwifery professionals through our hardship and education grants and awarded nearly £4 million in research grants, supporting 79 nursing and midwifery led projects. Learn more about our accomplishments since 2010 and hear from those we have supported here.

We have lots of exciting things to look forward to this year - keep in the loop by signing up to our email newsletter or find out how you can get involved!

Deepa Korea, RCN Foundation Director, said: "I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved in the last 15 years. Seeing first hand the transformational impact of the support that we provide for nursing and midwifery staff, and in turn, how this impacts the care that they provide every day to individuals and communities is remarkable. The RCN Foundation wouldn't be what it is without its exemplary staff, who go above and beyond every day, and without our donors, who make an invaluable contribution to the work we deliver. Our accomplishments signify the lasting impact we've made to support and strengthen nursing and midwifery and as our organisation and staff continue to grow, I am excited to see what we will achieve in the next 15 years!"

Nicola Ranger, RCN General Secretary and Chief Executive, said: "A huge thank you to RCN staff and the support they have given to the RCN Foundation over the years. It is clear that the need for hardship grants is not going away, and we know that the need for education grants is huge. Deepa's leadership shows real integrity in supporting nursing and midwifery professionals, and I know that going forward, there is much more that we can do. Thank you, RCN Foundation, for all that you do."
