Since 2010, we’ve awarded £4,687,000 million in hardship grants.
Of this, £3,176,000 million has supported 6,326 individuals through our Benevolent Service.
In April 2020 we launched the COVID-19 Support Fund to respond directly to the challenges faced by frontline nursing and midwifery staff. Through the generosity of the public and organisations, we were able to financially support 3,351 individuals totalling £1,511,000 million.
We’ve created an online Signposting Hub - a directory of help to provide support and information that will empower those seeking our help beyond a financial grant. Support ranges from careers advice, counselling, to money management and mental health support.
Looking to the future
We will continue to provide a safety net for those who are facing financial hardship, as well as providing a pathway towards a sustainable future, supporting the most vulnerable members of nursing and midwifery communities. By 2028 we will have established the Centre for Compassionate Leadership in Nursing and Midwifery. The centre will be a hub for research, projects and initiatives that will aim to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for nursing and midwifery staff, particularly in relation to mental ill health.
Testimonials
Our hardship and signposting support exist to ensure that nurses, midwives and healthcare/maternity support workers are provided with routes out of poverty and hardship. Each donation we receive, no matter the amount, secures the longevity and success of this service.
