Celebrating excellence in nursing and midwifery at our 2023 Impact Awards

The annual RCN Foundation Impact Awards recognise excellence in nursing and midwifery throughout the UK. They are a celebration of the exceptional work undertaken by nurses, midwives and healthcare support workers that takes place every day throughout the UK.

During a year when nursing and midwifery is in the public consciousness more than ever before, we are proud to continue to be at the forefront of supporting the professions. Through our programmes of education grants and the support of our donors, we continue to help nurses, midwives, and healthcare support workers to develop their practice, boost their clinical expertise, and improve patient care.

Thank you

A special thank you to LV=, who were the premium sponsors of our Impact Awards Ceremony. Also thank you to Bird & Blend Tea Co., CompostyElbow Grease, Minky, and Nursem for their generous donations that supplied our goodie bags!

A huge thank you to comedian and author, Shaparak Khorsandi, who was the compère for the evening. Shaparak did a sterling job presenting the evening but her standout performance had to be her comedy set, which was received particularly well by our guests!

Impact Award Winners 2023

Our eight inspirational award winners for 2023 were selected from nurses, midwives, and healthcare support workers whose RCN Foundation education grants have supported them in enhancing their practice and creating an outstanding contribution to patient care throughout the UK.

For every one of this evening’s award recipients, there are many thousands of nursing and midwifery staff who continue to provide exceptional care, day in and day out, in different settings. These awards are also a reflection on the extraordinary contribution that nursing, and midwifery makes to our nation’s health and wellbeing.

Deepa Korea, Director of the RCN Foundation, said “It is a privilege to witness the immense difference that the RCN Foundation’s investment continues to make to support and strengthen nursing and midwifery, and improve the health and wellbeing of the public. These awards mark the culmination of another remarkable year for nursing and midwifery. We congratulate all our award winners for their outstanding commitment to providing the best possible patient care."
