The RCN Foundation COVID-19 Support Fund is here to provide grants to members of the nursing and midwifery team during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Funding is available to members of the nursing and midwifery team who are or have been working on the frontline during the COVID 19 pandemic and have been financially adversely affected by the crisis, this includes but is not limited to individuals who have experienced a loss of income due to self-isolating/ shielding, individuals who have experienced an increase in expenditure due to isolating away from home or because their travel costs have increased to continue working.You do not need to be an RCN member to access any of the support we are offering.
To be eligible you must have less than £2,000 savings (single person) or less than £4,000 savings (couple/family) in your account. Please send in your most recent bank statement in support of this.
In order to process your application, we require the following documents
The most recent bank statement for the account into which your wages/benefits are paid. Please note that the bank statement you provide as a supporting document must be for the same account that you provide details for in the application form
You must also provide evidence of your professional eligibility for example, one payslip from the last 3 months or P60 from 2020 showing job title
If you are classified as extremely vulnerable and have been advised to shield you must send a copy of correspondence from the NHS advising them to shield
If you are shielding away from home and have additional accommodation costs they must send evidence of your additional accommodation costs
If you are stranded overseas, you must send evidence of this, e.g. evidence of flight cancellation
If you are applying for funeral costs for someone who was a nurse, midwife or healthcare assistant please send in a copy of the deceased’s death certificate
Please note if we do not receive the relevant supporting documentation within 48 hours or if your application is incomplete, we will not be able to process your application.
