The RCN Foundation is seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join its Board of Trustees to help provide the strategic vision to support our ambitious plans.

This is an in excellent opportunity to contribute to supporting and strengthening nursing and midwifery and shaping the UK’s healthcare landscape. We are looking for an outstanding individual who can help us to strengthen our charity governance knowledge on our Board. You will bring energy, passion and drive to the role, and have a desire to make a real difference to our work and through that, our beneficiaries. 

About us

Established in 2010, the RCN Foundation is a charity and grant-maker that is committed to supporting nursing and midwifery to improve the health and wellbeing of the public. We support the UK’s nurses, midwives and Health Care Support Workers by providing advice and funding to members of the nursing and midwifery communities who face hardship; investing in the future of nursing and midwifery through a programme of funding education and career development opportunities; and supporting strategic nursing- and midwifery-led projects that demonstrate innovation and improve patient care and outcomes.

As part of the RCN Group, which also includes the Royal College of Nursing and RCNi (information and publications company), the RCN Foundation is in a unique position to make a significant and positive difference to nursing and healthcare across the UK.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking one Trustee to fill a vacancy on our Board at the earliest opportunity subject to completion of the necessary administrative processes.

We are particularly keen to recruit a Trustee with a background in charity governance with legal experience if possible.
